Trippify Research produces evidence-led analysis about B2B travel, distribution, agency operations, aviation, hotels and GCC and MENA market developments. This methodology defines how we select sources, classify evidence, analyse data and communicate limitations.
Research types
- Market report: a structured analysis using official, company, academic and reputable commercial sources.
- Data briefing: a focused examination of one dataset, period or operational question.
- Trippify market pulse: a time-bounded synthesis of recent indicators and clearly labelled observations.
- Internal operational analysis: aggregated and anonymized analysis from Trippify activity, subject to sample and privacy rules.
Evidence classifications
Every important claim should fall into one of four categories: an official fact; a third-party estimate; a Trippify inference derived from identified evidence; or aggregated and anonymized Trippify internal data. These categories must not be blended without explanation.
Source selection
We prioritize UN Tourism, IATA, ICAO, national statistics offices, tourism and economy ministries, civil aviation authorities, airports, airlines, hotel groups, public company reports, regulators, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and peer-reviewed research. Commercial travel-data sources may be used when their methodology, publication period and status as estimates are clear. We prefer the original publication over an article quoting it.
Periods, geography and definitions
A report must state the measurement period and the geography covered. Data from 2024, 2025 and 2026 is not treated as one period. Terms such as visitor, passenger, booking, room, occupancy, agency, market size and transaction may have different definitions across sources; the relevant definition is preserved or explained.
Internal data and sample rules
Trippify internal data is aggregated and anonymized. A report using it should describe the collection period, products, included markets, sample size where practical, exclusions and known bias. Supplier tests, search logs, bookings, enquiries or agency activity from Trippify do not automatically represent the full GCC or MENA market.
Data cleaning and exclusions
Before analysis, we check duplicates, missing values, units, currencies, date formats, inconsistent categories and extreme values. Exclusions must be explained when they could change interpretation. Currency conversions state the rate or source date. We do not silently interpolate missing periods.
Calculations and Trippify inferences
Derived metrics should show their formula or enough information to reproduce the calculation. A Trippify inference is labelled as an inference and describes the evidence and assumptions behind it. Forecasts from third parties remain attributed to those organizations; they are not converted into Trippify forecasts.
Conflicting data
When credible sources disagree, we compare definitions, period, geography, sample and revision date. The report explains the conflict and either selects the source that best fits the defined question, presents both values, or uses a range. Convenience is not a selection rule.
Limitations and uncertainty
Every research report includes limitations relevant to its evidence. Common limitations include incomplete country coverage, reporting lags, changing definitions, small samples, seasonal effects, commercial data opacity and the difference between searches, bookings and completed travel.
Citations and source register
Material numerical claims should link to the direct source and identify a publication or update date. Each report maintains a source register describing what each source supports. Quotations are short, attributed and used only when the exact wording matters.
Publication and review
A report is reviewed for source quality, numerical consistency, methodology, language and disclosure before publication. A modified date changes only after a meaningful revision. Updated editions should explain what changed. PDFs and web editions should use the same core findings, sources and limitations.
